Reader’s Digest of Movies

Reader’s Digest of Movies is a movie review blog written by Sathish, a blogger from Chennai, India. The blogger describes himself as very opinionated; he thinks he is like that because of his movie watching habit. He feels you can map your life through your favorite movies, and no two people’s maps will be the same. He goes on to explain that he puts forward his opinions about life & happenings in today’s world with the help of movies, as he says “All of life’s riddles are answered in movies.”

readers-digest-of-moviesThe blog has been around since May 2009 and there is an average of three reviews per month. The blogger has completed 56 reviews to date (which is easy to know because he adds the serial number to the title). A practice that I really liked was that the blogger tends to embed a YouTube trailer of the film in the post. Another nice feature is that the blogger doesn’t review just the latest releases but also the classic films from 1940s and 1950s.

Each review is very comprehensive. In contains a little background on the film (especially if it is adapted from a book), the plot, trailer and then the actual review with a lot of trivia included but with no spoilers.

A lovely blog to visit if you’re interested in discovering some nice films to watch.
